What Are The Causes of Cellulite?
There are many causes of cellulite. Some of these are beyond our control but others we have more control over. This is a case where beauty is from the outside in as well as the inside out. There is a five step process in the formation of cellulite. - Fat metabolism is distributed.
- Fat cells become fatter.
- Fat cells squeeze together capillaries which disrupt microcirculation, causing a breakdown in the skin's elastin/collegan support structure.
- Fluid retention increases.
- Toxins increase.
Causes of cellulite:- Our genetic background has much to do for our getting cellulite and at what age. Something which we have little control over.
- Hormonal changes – teenagers sometimes experience cellulite because of the hormonal changes at puberty.
- Poor diet or fad dieting. Excessive amounts of fat, carbohydrates, salt, or too little fiber can all contribute to increased cellulite.
- Slow metabolism.
- Smoking.
- Lifestyle - Lack of exercise, sitting or standing in one position for long periods.
- High stress levels. A lifestyle with high stress will cause an increase in our hormone levels.
- Fashion - Wearing underwear that has tight elastic which goes across the middle of the buttock. This will limit blood flow which causes cellulite to form.
- dehydration
There are new treatments and creams on the market to help cope with unsightly skin caused by cellulite.
Some of the causes of cellulite are unavoidable. We don't have much control over what we inherit from our ancestors. We do have control over what we eat or what we wear. Something as simple as changing our lifestyle may go a long way to avoid developing this condition.
