This site was created to provide information on various skin disorders that can affect any member of our family.

The information contained here is not meant to be a substitute for diagnosing or treatments that should be provided by a qualified doctor or any other health care professional.

Diagnosing of any skin disorder must be done by a health care provider of your choice.

Some pages give the general symptoms for specific skin disorders but since many of these skin disorders may look alike it is necessary to have them diagnosed by someone who is knowledgeable in skin disorders.

If there is any doubt as to what the cause of the problem is, appropriate lab tests can be done to determine if the cause is a virus, a fungus or bacteria.

I have mentioned some medications because they may have been prescribed for certain skin conditions by health care professionals.

DO NOT take any medications unless they were prescribed for you by a professional and you are under the care of that person.

I am not suggesting that there are cures for specific conditions like skin cancer. From personal experience, I know how quickly skin cancer can appear. It seemed to come out of nowhere. I am trying to make people aware of how dangerous ultraviolet rays can be to the skin. I have friends who still love to 'soak up the sun'. Despite all the information available, they are still oblivious to the fact that tanned skin is damaged skin.

The videos that have been presented are not meant to reflect my views as to what treatment is better than other. Each person has the ultimate responsibility of choosing the sort of treatment that is right for them or their family depending on their particular health situation.

Some of the pages may deal with alternate forms of treatment or may include herbal remedies. Botanicals that some have found to be helpful may be mentioned. Not everyone is comfortable with non-traditional forms of treatments but I have included this information as others are open to using these natural products. I am in no way endorsing such procedures or the use of herbal remedies, again it is a personal matter.

The one consistent thread that I have tried to emphasize throughout this site is, that it is absolutely necessary to seek professional help early when we begin to suffer any type of skin rash or notice other abnormal changes to our skin. Our life may depend on getting an early diagnosis on many conditions. Skin cancer is one such condition.
