Seniors Skin Care
Seniors skin care is a billion dollar industry. The market is flooded with products that promise to reduce wrinkles, take away age spots and reduce the signs of aging. Do any of them work?
Some do
and some don't. As an example, researchers believe that smoking may speed up the aging process. A complete health care routine is needed if beautiful skin is achieved. As the body ages so does the skin. It reflects how a person has lived their life. It has been said that “we reap what we sow” and that is certainly true for seniors. Careless skin care habits, a lifestyle of over indulgence or lack of exercise shows up in later years.
Long-term smokers are four times as likely to become prematurely gray and twice as likely to be bald, according to the Lancet of Britain. However, it is never too late.
Having good skin involves more that just using skin creams and keeping the skin moist. Attention must be given all aspects of life.
Research shows that there are two reasons why we age - one reason are the genes we inherit and the other are changes caused by environmental exposure. Things like too much sun, diseases or lack of personal hygiene. There is nothing we can do to stop the aging process, but we can help to
limit the factors
that lead to the many skin problems that are common among older ones.
