Does Shaving Hair Affects It Growth?

Shaving hair will make it grow back faster, thicker or darker is a popular believe held by many. Is that really true?

For anyone who may feel this is one way to make their hair beautiful and thicker need to read the following.

According to a recent article in the BMJ (a British Medical Journal) that is not the case.

It explains that as far back as 1928 clinical trials showed that shaving had no effect on the thickness or rate of hair growth. Recent scientific studies confirm these findings.

So where does this idea about shaving the hair come from?

When the hair is shaved it has blunt ends. The stubble does not have the finer ends of long hair so it feels coarser. (Ever tried to run your fingers through short stubbly hair?)

Since the new hair growth has not been bleached by the sun it may appear darker.

Hair care is an important part of our routine if our family is to have beautiful hair. The idea that shaving hair is a way to thicker hair is just not true.
