Teenage Acne
Teenage acne is said to affect at least 90% of teens around the world. If you have a teenager in your family you know the pain that these blemishes can cause. - The bodies of boys and girls produce this hormone during their adolescent years.
- Boys have more serious outbreaks of acne because their bodies are producing more endrogens.
Production of Oil- The over production of androgens causes more oil to be produced.
- This oil mixes with dead skin cells that are located on the top of the skin causing a clump of dead skin cells and sebum to get into a pore.
- Bacteria gets trapped inside the pore.
- The body is not aware what is happening, so it just keeps producing more oil. The result is the follicle becomes swollen and infected.
Body Reacts- Once the body is alerted to the infection it goes into defense mode and sends white blood cells to the area.
- The result? You got it. An ugly zit!
Stress- This is a problem for young and old alike. Have you noticed how a blemish appears just before a big event. That's because when the body experiences tension or emotional upsets the skin glands becomes activated.
