What is Acne?
What is acne? A good question. Since acne is a problem for every member of the family some wonder what it is. Not only does an outbreak of acne make a person feel self-conscience of their appearacne, (beautiful skin and acne hardly go together), it can cause physcological prolems as well. A Description of Acne Acne is a common skin disease disorder of the the hair follicle or pore.
Pimples
form when hair follicles under your skin clog up. Most pimples form on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. We do not usually get acne does on other parts of the body. Acne vulgaris, as common acne is known, is classified as a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin.
Typical acne lesions (an infected or diseased patch of skin) are: - comedones,
- inflammatory papules
- pustules
- nodules
- Some of the large nodules were previously called "cysts" and the term nodulocystic has been used to describe severe cases of inflammatory acne.

- Topical antibiotics
- Oral antibiotics
- Hormonal treatments
- Oral retinoids
- Topical retinoids
- Dermabrasion
- Phototherapy
- 'Blue' and red light

Aside from scarring, its main effects are psychological, such as reduced self-esteem and, according to at least one study, depression or suicide. Acne usually appears during adolescence, when people already tend to be most socially insecure. Early and aggressive treatment is suggested by some to lessen the overall impact to individuals.What is acne? That is a question that is the subject of many scientific studies. Scientists can identify types acne skin lesions, but as yet, they have not found a cure of acne.
